Biography

Stefan has previously worked on Gideon Obarzanek’s productions Dance Better At Parties(Sydney Theatre Company) and There Will Definitely Be A Prince Involved (The Australian Ballet).

His other composition and sound design credits include Hamlet, Forget Me Not, Peter Pan, Medea, Private Lives, Death of a Salesman, Strange Interlude, Old Man, Thyestes, As You Like It, Neighbourhood Watch (in which he also performed), The Seagull, The Wild Duck, Measure for Measure, That Face for Belvoir St Theatre; Face To Face, Baal, The War of the Roses (in which he also performed), Frankenstein for Sydney Theatre Company; Symphony for Legs On The Wall; The Suicide, B.C. for The Hayloft Project; King Lear, Hamlet and Othello for Bell Shakespeare Company.

Stefan was a band member of Faker until 2008, where he earned a platinum single and several ARIA nominations. He has been nominated for a Helpmann Award and received a Sydney Theatre Award for Best Score or Sound Design for Thyestes. He was recently awarded a Sidney Myer Creative Fellowship.

In 2014, Stefan composed the score for Gideon Obarzanek’s L’Chaim! which was part of Sydney Dance Company’s critically acclaimed season Interplay.
