“Dance, music and creativity bring us together, give us hope, and in these dark and difficult times, help us feel alive.”

“Since announcing the cancellation of Bonachela / Forsythe, I have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love from our Sydney Dance Company community. Thank you for your kindness, your spirited support and your immense generosity during a time that feels both devastating and daunting for all of us. We are enormously grateful! To every single person who has sent us a message of support, donated back to us the value of tickets, and acknowledged the challenges we are facing, thank you. We will get through this together!

The value and the power of the arts has never been more important than it is now. Dance, music and creativity bring us together, give us hope, and in these dark and difficult times, help us feel alive. Whilst we have cancelled the performances, we have been able to undertake some technical work in the theatre this week in preparation for when we can share Bonachela / Forsythe with you on stage. The Australian String Quartet are currently recording Bryce’s Impermanence score – stand by for more information.

As you know, Sydney Dance Company is a not-for-profit. Any donation you can make now, and any ongoing support you can give us, will make an enormous difference. It will help to keep us dancing and be ready, when this crisis abates, to continue to create new work and share it with audiences across Australia and around the world; to bring the joy of dance to students across the country; and to provide opportunities to secure the next generation of young dancers.”

Thank you and much love to you and your families.
