Sydney Dance Company offers a variety of advanced short courses aimed to extend the knowledge and skills of those with a comprehensive understanding of contemporary dance.
Winter Professional Intensive
Dates Monday 29 June to Friday 3 July

Sydney Dance Company’s five day Professional Intensive is designed to extend your training, spark your creativity and challenge you as an artist, providing an opportunity for professional and early-career dance artists to learn from Sydney Dance Company’s Artistic Team and industry leading artists.
The Professional Intensive is an application-based program. Graduating dance students, early-career dance artists and professional dancers with a high level of ballet or contemporary dance training aged 18+ are encouraged to apply for this invaluable opportunity with Australia’s leading contemporary dance company.
The five-days will include contemporary technique classes in a variety of styles and methodologies, improvisation tasks, and a creative development and the opportunity to learn Sydney Dance Company repertoire. The aim of the program, is to leave you feeling creatively motivated and inspired as an artist.
Both Australian and international applicants are welcome to apply. Sydney Dance Company is unable to assist international dancers with visa processes, however no study visa is required to participate in the Professional Intensive.
Winter Professional Intensive 2026 commences Monday 29 June.

Winter Youth Intensive
Dates Monday 13 July to Friday 17 July 2026
Ages 15 – 18 years
Fee $540
Location Wharf 4/5, 15 Hickson Road, Dawes Point 2000
Youth Intensive has been designed to challenge, extend and develop the technical, creative and artistic skills of intermediate-advanced dancers aged 15-18 years.
Take classes in technique, improvisation, creative development and learn Sydney Dance Company repertoire while dancing by the harbour at Sydney Dance Company’s iconic studios. Youth Intensive dancers will be encouraged to extend their technique and explore their own creativity.
Places in the Youth Intensive are open to dancers aged 15-18 years of age who are at an intermediate to advanced level of training in ballet or contemporary dance and are by application only.
