Face to Face Workshops
Depending on the style of dance selected, students will develop their dance technique, creative thinking and performance quality in a fun and engaging environment. Taught by Sydney Dance Company Teaching Artists, students will be guided through a technique warm up and learn a genre-specific routine.
Contemporary Creative workshops are a unique opportunity to experience how the Company creates and performs new and original movement. Participants are guided through a contemporary technique warm up, taught a section of Sydney Dance Company choreography and challenged with a composition task from one of our productions.
All workshops and dance classes are tailored to accommodate the learning needs of diverse students including those with different skill levels and prior dance experience. Teaching Artists support individuals to work at their own levels, encouraging all students to experience dance in a positive and inclusive environment.

National Tour Workshops
Sydney Dance Company is excited to be touring around Australia delivering Contemporary Creative Workshops to Primary Schools, Secondary Schools, Dance Studios, Community Groups and Tertiary Institutions.
Contemporary Creative Workshops offer a unique opportunity to experience how Sydney Dance Company creates and performs new and original movement. Workshops encourage participants to explore and develop their technique, creativity and collaboration skills in an inclusive and engaging environment. Each workshop is tailored to meet the experience and skill levels of the group.
Workshops include a contemporary dance technique warm-up, the opportunity to learn a phrase of Sydney Dance Company’s repertoire, and an in-depth exploration of the creative processes undertaken by Sydney Dance Company to generate movement. These creative tasks will support and inform composition practices, foster creative thinking and develop effective collaboration skills, resulting in a supportive and exciting creative environment.
All bookings will include an accompanying Digital Resource Pack designed to further extend the workshop experience. Resource Packs include exclusive access to information about the touring performance, Cast & Creative Biographies and appreciation and composition tasks to work through before and after the workshop experience.

Bespoke and International Programs
Sydney Dance Company is committed to creating high-quality dance experiences and developing bespoke programs that support and engage communities. Whether delivering a series of workshops, exploring specific dance styles, hosting an international group, or providing professional development, our programs offer dynamic and inspiring experiences tailored to diverse needs.
Sydney Dance Company supports dance education for all ages, from primary and secondary students to pre-professional dancers and university graduates, offering focused experiences that inspire creativity and foster artistic expression. All of our programs provide world-class training and opportunities to collaborate with expert choreographers and industry-leading teachers.
Our six studios vary in size and are suitable for rehearsals, auditions, filming, and photography. Each studio is equipped with sprung floors, mirrors, and a sound system. Studio 5: Neilson Studio also functions as a theatre space, complete with state-of-the-art technology and retractable seating. Overlooking Sydney Harbour Bridge, it is an ideal venue for dance and theatre performances, conferences, receptions, and special events.

These packs address key curriculum areas, including performance, composition and appreciation, and are designed with secondary students in mind. Many of the activities can also be adapted for use in primary settings.
