Kicking off 2024, our first season of the year will feature a world premiere by Rafael Bonachela, momenta. A journey into the poetry and physics of human connection, momenta is a powerful new full-length work featuring the full might of our incredible 17-dancer ensemble.
In September, our double bill Twofold will see Rafael’s beloved Impermanence return to the stage alongside a new work, Love Lock, by renowned choreographer Melanie Lane, who brought us the critically acclaimed WOOF in 2019. Be moved by the transience of our fragile existence and re-imagine folk dance in an ever-accelerating world.
To conclude a year of redefining contemporary dance, we present our eleventh season of New Breed at Carriageworks, supported by The Balnaves Foundation. In this annual season that celebrates emerging Australian talent, four choreographers will create diverse new works on our Company dancers.
