Biography

Since relocating to New York from Sydney in 2005, Tim Richardson has established a diverse and award winning body of work.

Richardson’s images have been exhibited internationally and are in the collections of Deutsche Bank, Mode Museum Hasselt and Sir Elton John. His first monograph, Spiritual Machine, was published by Prestel in 2015.

His unique signature and passion for progressive imagery has led to photographic assignments for publications such as Dazed & Confused, Interview, Numéro Art, German Vogue, Australian Vogue, VMAN and V Magazine: attracting major brands including Dior, Louis Vuitton, NARS, Estée Lauder, Covergirl, and Nike.

Tim has directed films and installations for Dior, Givenchy, Diesel, Barney’s, Lexus, Nowness and Nike. His work has been screened at film festivals including Miami, One Dot Zero and the Venice Biennale.

Richardson has shot four campaigns for Sydney Dance Company including We Unfold in 2009, New Creations 1 & 2 in 2010 and Shared Frequencies in 2011. In 2010, Tim was commissioned by Rafael Bonachela to create the 6 Breaths video art installation, a singular component of the production’s stage design and Tim’s first collaboration with the Company as a stage designer.

Richardson’s most recent projects include campaign films for Dior Homme and Numéro Art collaborations with Billie Eilish and Bill Skarsgard.
