Biography
Born in Taree, NSW, Mahalia began her dance training at the age of three, studying a wide range of styles at Andrea Rowsell Academy of Dance.
After discovering a particular passion for contemporary dance, Mahalia joined Sydney Dance Company’s Pre Professional Year through 2024 and 2025, where she received an Advanced Diploma in Professional Dance (Elite Performance). In 2025 she had the opportunity to perform in James Batchelor’s Sydney season of Resonance and collaborated with and performed works by Zee Zunnur, Emma Harrison, Thomas E.S Kelly, Cass Mortimer-Eipper and Rafael Bonachela’s Lux Tenebris.
Mahalia is excited to begin her professional career as a trainee with Sydney Dance Company in 2026.
