Biography

Born in Auckland, New Zealand, Dean started his dance training under Kylie Norris at Norris Studios in 2015. He then moved to Sydney to study dance at Ev and Bow Full Time Dance Training Centre, graduating in 2018. During his time at Ev and Bow, he had the pleasure of learning from many inspiring and established dance educators and artists. Dean joined the Theatre of Image in 2019 for their production of Brett and Wendy… a love story bound by art choreographed by Lucas Jervies and directed by Kim Carpentern, in which he danced the role of Young Brett Whitely. Dean initially commenced work with Sydney Dance Company through a placement he received at the Brisbane International Contemporary Dance Prix. Following his placement, he joined the Company for various performance seasons throughout 2019 and is now a full-time Company dancer with Sydney Dance Company.
