Jazz dance evolved on Broadway in the 1950s into the new, smooth style that is taught today and known as Theatre Jazz or Modern Jazz. This performance style of Jazz was popularised to a large extent by Bob Fosse’s work, which is exemplified by Broadway shows such as Chicago, Cabaret and Sweet Charity. Theatre Jazz is also used in large scale musicals today such as Fame, Wicked and Grease, and the TV show Smash.

Theatre Jazz (Beginner)

Theatre Jazz Level 1 (Elementary)

This next level of Theatre Jazz, challenges dancers with slightly more complicated choreography. Building on foundation skills, this class will improve your technique as you learn fun routines from popular musical theatre.

This level is for dancers with 1 or 2 years experience. The class is for Adults aged 16+.

Theatre Jazz Level 2 (Intermediate)

This advanced Theatre Jazz class begins with a set warm-up followed by progressions and technique exercises. Dancers will then learn an exciting and challenging routine.

This level is for experienced and professional dancers. The class is for Adults aged 16+.

Theatre Jazz Level 3 (Advanced)

This is an advanced Theatre Jazz class for professional dancers. Participate in a vibrant warm up and stretch, practice your progressions and then learn a challenging and exciting routine taught by industry experts. The class is for Adults aged 16+.
