Beginner Dance Workshop (for 8 to 11 years)

Beginner dance gives you the opportunity to try different styles and discover your own grooves and rhythm. Start with Hip Hop – a fun way to build confidence and learn new technique. In a Contemporary class you will participate in different exercises which encourage original movement to ignite your creativity and imagination. In the final class you will learn a simple routine from a popular Musical Theatre piece.

Boys Only Hip Hop (for 8-12 years)

This Boys Only Hip Hop Workshop will focus on freestyle techniques building confidence, creativity and imagination to help develop your own unique style in Break Dancing, Popping and Hip Hop. You will learn technique and choreography from Sydney Dance Company’s experienced teachers and have the opportunity to improve your performance skills, create your own work and develop your personal style.

Commercial Dance (12-16 years) at Bondi Pavilion

For the enthusiastic young dancer who wants to develop their commercial dance technique. Start each day with a technique class which focuses on kicks, turns and leaps. Work on body conditioning and developing a strong, flexible body. Under the direction of three experienced dance teachers learn different commercial dance routines in the latest styles of Jazz, Contemporary, and Lyrical/Hip Hop. Choreography will be inspired by routines performed by Beyonce, Ariane Grande and Rhianna.

Contemporary, Lyrical, Hip Hop and Theatre Jazz (8-18 years)

Work with skilled choreographers on four different routines as you build a strong foundation of core technique. Explore the fluidity of movement and control that is required when performing Lyrical dance. Focus on the more abstract form of Contemporary dance as you uncover your natural movement and develop your own personal interpretation and self-expression. Learn inventive, high energy Hip Hop and Street Dance routines. Then develop your Musical Theatre skills in a Theatre Jazz routine.

Contemporary, Lyrical, JFH and Theatre Jazz (8-18 years)

Over two fun filled and challenging days, explore four dynamic dance styles. Each session participate in an intensive warm up and learn an original routine taught by our expert dance teachers. Enhance flexibility and movement in a Lyrical class as you learn about expressive movement. Appreciate Contemporary dance and its unique approach to movement and individuality. Learn choreography similar to those seen in popular dance videos in a JFH (Jazz, Funk and Hip Hop) class. Then showcase your performance skills in a Theatre Jazz class as you learn a routine from musical theatre.

Earth, Fire, Water and Air (8-11 years) at Bondi Pavilion

Be inspired by the four elements as you explore a variety of styles and dance techniques. Get down in a high energy Hip Hop class that combines rhythm, groove and individuality. Burn the floor in a Jazz class as you practice technique and movement combinations. Discover the fluid movements of Contemporary dance and participate in movement improvisations that develop your creativity. Explore musicality, breath and spatial awareness in a Lyrical class. Experienced dance teachers will tap into your imagination whilst helping you develop your technical and creative skills.
