Sydney Dance Company is thrilled to be offering the Creative Youth Intensive at West HQ for a third year, deepening our engagement with emerging young dancers aged 13-17 in Western Sydney. In 2026 we are excited to launch the brand new Junior Intensive for ages 10-12 years, creating an opportunity for the community’s younger dancers.
Both of these intensives are application based and are fully-subsidised experiences for successful applicants. Click on the tabs to learn more about each program.
Creative Youth Intensive 13-17yrs
Open to: Western Sydney dancers aged 13-17 years old

Join Sydney Dance Company for a Creative Youth Intensive at the Sydney Coliseum Theatre, West HQ!
Develop your contemporary dance skills in this five-day intensive delivered during the spring school holidays. Supported by West HQ, this fully subsidised intensive program is open to dancers aged 13-17 years old with some experience in dance.
Working with Sydney Dance Company’s Teaching Artists, young dancers from Western Sydney will have the opportunity to explore their own creativity through contemporary dance techniques, creative tasks and development. Participants will experience the choreographic process and learn Sydney Dance Company repertoire, culminating in a unique performance for all.
When: Monday 28 September to Friday 2 October 2026

Develop your contemporary dance skills in this three-day intensive delivered during the spring school holidays. Supported by West HQ, this fully subsidised intensive program is open to dancers aged 10-12 years old with some experience in dance.
Led by Sydney Dance Company’s Teaching Artists, participants will take part in contemporary dance classes, creative movement activities and collaborative choreography. Along the way, they will develop their technique, explore new ways of moving and expressing ideas, and experience how professional dancers create and perform original work.
The program concludes with a special informal performance for family, friends and the local community.
