Biography

Samuel Webster is an artist working in writing, film and photography. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honours, a Master of Arts in Creative Writing and a Bachelor of Teaching. Samuel’s writing won the Senior Industry Award (2006, 2010) and People’s Choice Award (2010) in the National Youth Week talent competitions and he is a recipient of an ArtStart Grant by the Australian Council for the Arts.

Samuel previously worked with Sydney Dance Company in 2011, with the creation of PROTOGENOS, a book of visual poetry and photography inspired by Rafael Bonachela’sLANDforms. PROTOGENOS was released during Shared Frequencies in March 2011. Samuel also worked with Rafael for 2 One Another where he created the exquisite poetry fragments featured throughout the work. Samuel is also the editor and founder of Mood of Monk, an arts journal which responds poetically to the Australian art scene.

Sam is currently living and working in Italy.
