Biography

Lea started her professional career at the age of 16 with Sydney Dance Company after training at the Bryan Lawrence School of Ballet in Canberra under Bryan Lawrence and Janet Karin. During her 13 years with the Company, Lea danced in many of Graeme Murphy’s works as well as works by national and international choreographers such as Ohad Naharin, Ralph Lemon and Louis Falco. Lea then went on to work with some of Australia’s leading companies including Chunky Move (Gideon Obarzanek) and Bangarra. Whilst at Bangarra, Lea also performed in Albert David’s Bipotim (Before time) and in Stephen Page’s Rite of Spring in collaboration with the Australian Ballet. Following her dance career, Lea trained as a Pilates Instructor and achieved the level of teacher trainer with Romana’s Pilates. She now teaches in her Sydney studio.
