Win a role in Sydney Dance Company’s De Novo!

We are excited to announce a competition for enthusiastic males to perform a fun cameo role in our production of De Novo.

De Novo features a piece by Larissa McGowan called Fanatic that’s a tongue-in-cheek and exceptionally high-energy look at sci-fi fan culture. It’s set in the lounge room of a disillusioned movie fan who is using YouTube to vent his feelings on the Alien vs Predator franchise.

The piece features a trio of Sydney Dance Company members performing to a soundscape of movie-bytes from sci-fi blockbusters – plus the cameo acting role, which is performed from within the theatre auditorium.

To win the cameo, all you need to do is create a 30-second video clip with your camera or mobile device performing your favourite line from the Alien or Predator franchises. No dance experience or skill is required. Entrants must be at least 18 years old as the role does require swearing (although minimal).

To be in the running entrants need to record a 30-second video clip with their camera or mobile device, performing their favourite line from one of the Alien or Predator movies, and either email the clip to [email protected] or tag #SDCDeNovo and @sydneydance on Instagram, and also name the town they would like to perform in.

Finalists will be contacted directly by their local venue, where De Novo is touring.
