Biography

Veronique has established herself as a versatile musician whose repertoire ranges from baroque to contemporary classical, folk, rock and improvisation. She is committed to new works and regularly collaborates with many of Australia’s composers.

Recent highlights include a 2013 performance of Arvo Pärt’s Tabula Rasa with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and leading the orchestra for Sarah Blasko and Cinematic Orchestra’s Sydney Opera House shows.

In 2014 Veronique is delighted to once again join Sydney Dance Company in live performance with JS Bach’s Partita 2 in D Minor, which she will record as her debut solo album. Previous appearances with Sydney Dance Company include Cacti (2013) and Shared Frequencies (2011).

An avid chamber musician, Veronique is a member of the Noise (an impro based string quartet) and Ensemble Offspring. She has appeared as a guest with Ironwood, Acacia Quartet, Omega Ensemble and in the Rivendell Recital Series. This year she joins Sydney Camerata Quartet as well as pianist Laura McDonald in recital.

From 2010-12, Veronique toured internationally with harpist/singer Joanna Newsom. She is a founding member of the band CODA, co-writing much of the bands early material. A regular in Sydney’s recording studios, Veronique can be heard on many Australian albums and feature films often directing the string section. Her film credits include The Black Balloon, MentalAround the BlockThe Rocket and Red Obsession.

Veronique has worked with the Australian Chamber Orchestra since 1998 and currently holds a part time position. She plays a 1900 Leandro Bisiach violin.
