Big Dance is a biennial international festival celebrating dance – in all it’s forms. Initiated by the Mayor of London in 2006, this year, for the first time, Australia will take a lead role in the event. Our Artistic Director, Rafael Bonachela, has choreographed a new, large-scale dance routine that will be performed by thousands in Sydney, London and Glasgow.
In Sydney, Big Dance will be held outside on the Sydney Opera House’s Northern Boardwalk at 9am on 13 July – with live video links to London and Glasgow via satellite. If you’d like to participate and learn Rafael’s choreography, we will be running a number of free training sessions around the city – including our studios at Walsh Bay (The Wharf, Pier 4 Hickson Road). Big Dance is completely free and open to anyone – so if you jive, waltz, krump, tap, pirouette, shimmy or even just click your fingers, get involved in Australia’s biggest-ever dance event.
