Canberra Theatre Centre

Canberra Theatre Centre is the Capital’s premier performing arts venue, providing world class performing arts and entertainment to the people of Canberra and surrounding regions. The Centre includes the 1,244 seat Canberra Theatre which is where we usually perform, The Playhouse seating 618 and The Courtyard Studio, an intimate rehearsal and performance space that seats up to 90 patrons.

Parking for Canberra Theatre is best accessed from the intersection at London Circuit & Constitution Avenue.

Paid parking is available for the following days and times:
Monday to Thursday: 9am – 5:30pm
Friday: 9am – 9pm
Saturday: 9am – 12pm

Disabled Parking
Disabled car parks are located behind the Canberra Museum & Gallery and in front of the ACT Legislative Assembly.

Canberra Theatre Centre can also be accessed by Taxi service. Cab Spot 10 drops and collects patrons outside the back entrance of the Theatre foyer. There is a complimentary phone located inside the foyer.

Patrons can also be dropped off and collected from Cab Spot 11 which is located at The Courtyard Studio entrance and Canberra Theatre stage door.

In the Centre, The Link foyer bar offers pre-show, post-show and interval food and drinks. It offers a range of quality beers, wines and soft drinks and a small selection of sweet and savoury treats.

For those interested in full meals, either pre or post show, the Centre is located right in the heart of Canberra with a range of high quality restaurants, pubs and clubs all within walking distance.

Tosolinis Ristorante
Tosolinis Ristorante, situated on leafy Baileys Corner across the street from the Centre, has cemented a 20 year reputation for its traditional Italian cooking. Winner of numerous awards.

The Chairman and Yip

Also nearby at 108 Bunda St, the well established Chairman and Yip offers a special brand of Asian cuisine.

Cream Cafe and Bar
In a huge, open-plan block on the corner of Bunda and Genge Streets, Cream offers early-morning take-away coffee, through to breakfast, lunch, dinner, functions and after-work drinks and tapas. After the show, enjoy Cream’s transformation into an inner city cocktail bar.

The Canberra Theatre offers a number of access and special assistance services, including audio described performances, tactile tours, live captioning, FM radio assistance hearing loop, mobility assistance, special seating requests and is a supporter of the Companion Card scheme.
