Harriet graduated from fashion design at RMIT in 1996 and from theatre design at the VCA in 2004.Her dance designs include work for Chunky Move – Assembly, a Victorian Opera co-production for Melbourne Festival and Sydney Festival 2011/2012, choreographed by Gideon Obarzanek, and Mix Tape by Stephanie Lake in 2010, and independent dance works such as A Small Prometheus for Stephanie Lake and Robin Fox in 2013, Tower Suites for Ros Warby in 2012, Floored for Victoria Chiu in 2013, and Boxed Spring Picture for Sean Curham (New Zealand) in 2005.

In recent years Harriet designed costumes for the big budget musical Moonshadow the Musical in 2012, and for Unashamed Desire – a music video for Missy Higgins. Her costume designs for Victorian Opera’s Angelique /The Bear won the Melbourne Green Room award for design in opera in 2010.

She has worked with independent theatre artists to create costumes for theatre productions such as Pindrop by Tamara Saulwick/ Malthouse and Madeleine by Jenny Kemp, and regularly works with physical theatre/circus company Dislocate, on works such as If These Walls Could Talk which will premiere in October 2014. She will also be designing Stephen Sondheim’s feted musical Into The Woods for Victorian Opera in 2014.

In 2014, Harriet designed the costumes for Gideon Obarzanek’s L’Chaim! which was part of Sydney Dance Company’s critically acclaimed season Interplay.
