The Brief

To celebrate 40 years as a resident of the Walsh Bay, Sydney Dance Company is inviting members of our dance community to design a limited-edition T-shirt. This is your chance to be part of a special milestone and see your work worn by dancers and audiences alike.

The Brief

Create a bold, original design that celebrates Sydney Dance Company and reflects the energy, creativity and community at the heart of our studios.

Sydney Dance Company Logo

The Sydney Dance Company logo must be included in the design. However, it must be used as supplied and must not be altered, redrawn, distorted, or modified in any way.

Design Requirements

– Use a maximum of two colours (excluding the T-shirt colour, which will be either black or white).
– Designs must be printed on one side only (front or back).
– Artwork must be original and suitable for screen printing.

Open to everyone!

How to Submit

– Submit your design as a high-resolution JPEG or EPS
– Include your name and contact details
– Send to sdc@sydneydancecompany.com
– Entries close 19 June 2026

Prize

The winning design will be produced as a limited-edition Sydney Dance Company t-shirt, with full credit to the designer. The winner will receive three t-shirts featuring their design, plus a $300 gift voucher to use on Sydney Dance Company performances, classes or workshops.

Entries will be judged by a panel including Artistic Director Rafael Bonachela and Board Member and leading Australian fashion designer Bianca Spender.

We can’t wait to see your creativity and celebrate this milestone together.

Terms and Conditions

By entering the competition, participants confirm that their design is original and does not infringe on any copyright, trademark or other intellectual property rights.

If you incorporate the Sydney Dance Company logo in your design, it must be used as supplied and must not be altered, redrawn, distorted, or modified in any way.

By submitting an entry, participants grant Sydney Dance Company an exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, publish, adapt and distribute the submitted design for promotional, marketing and merchandise purposes for a period determined by Sydney Dance Company.

The creator of the winning design agrees to assign the intellectual property rights of the winning design to Sydney Dance Company for the purposes of production, promotion and sale of merchandise related to the initiative.

No financial payment, royalty, or other remuneration will be provided for the use of submitted designs. The prize outlined above constitutes full and final consideration for the winning design.

Sydney Dance Company reserves the right to make minor modifications to the winning design where required for production, formatting or branding purposes.

The selection of the winning design will be made at the sole discretion of Sydney Dance Company. Sydney Dance Company reserves the right not to select a winning entry if submissions do not meet the brief or production requirements.

By entering, participants agree that their name and submitted design may be used in promotional materials related to the competition and resulting merchandise.

Submission of an entry constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
