Ways to Give
-
All donations over $2 to Sydney Dance Company are tax-deductible; this is because we are a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR)
Bequests and Legacies;
You can include in your will anyone who you wish to remember – including Not-For-Profit organisations. There are many ways to make a bequest or leave a legacy and no matter which type of gift you make, please be assured that if you decide to support Sydney Dance Company, your gift will be used to realise the artistic vision of Rafael Bonachela.
Please be assured that by leaving Sydney Dance Company in your will, you will help to secure the future of Australian contemporary dance.
Philanthropic Trust or Foundation;
A philanthropic foundation is a term generally used to describe a perpetual trust designed to make grants to charities or carry out charitable purposes. Foundations are governed by trustees who may be an authorised trustee company, family and friends of the benefactor, qualified professionals, or a mixture of the above.
Or a Prescribed Private Fund;
A Prescribed Private Fund (PPF) is a fund established by a trust instrument to which businesses, families and individuals can make tax deductible donations. There is no need for gifts to a PPF to be sought and received from the public, and a PPF can be controlled by an individual, family or corporate group.
Workplace Giving;
Workplace Giving is a program which allows employees in Australia the opportunity to make direct pre-tax donations from their pay.
Donations are deducted each pay period direct from an employee’s gross salary, by arrangement with their employer’s payroll departments. When an individual makes a donation, it usually comes from their ‘taxed’ income. With Workplace giving, employees get the benefit of giving ‘pre-tax’, making the value of each dollar go even further.
ShareGift;
ShareGift is a not-for profit organisation that provides you with an easy way to sell and donate small parcels of shares that would otherwise be difficult and expensive to trade.
Share donations of any size are welcome, no matter how small, and donors are invited to recommend a cultural arts organisation or any other charity they wish to support. Funding distributions are decided by the ShareGift board on the basis of these recommendations.
ShareGift will send you a letter with details of the share sale, so that you can claim the full benefit of the tax deduction. This program is supported by National Australia Bank, ASX and Goldman Sachs JBWere.
If you wish to speak with us in confidence about the options and opportunities available to you relating to a bequest or any other gift to Sydney Dance Company please contact our Philanthropy Manager, Clementine Johnson on (02) 9258 4832 or email
