Kylie Alexandra
Funk/Hip Hop

Kylie trained at Maria Shanks Dance Centre/Queensland Dance School of Excellence/ Helena Wilson/ Dance Factory Melbourne. Kylies theatre work includes: Grease The Arena Spectacular and the leading role of Candy in Oh What a Night, Joe Labero’s Illusions at Rondo Theatre Sweden, Jupiters Casino Gold Coast. Kylie has performed for the Swedish Royal Family, State of Origin, The Footy Show, The Australian Idol, The ARIA Awards, Sydney Mardi Gras Shows and Sleaze Ball Shows Entertainment Quarter (formerly known as Fox Studios, Sydney) and is a regular performer for J-Foxx Entertainment. Kylie is also a sort after commercial and corporate dancer in both Australia and overseas. She has appeared on many Television Programmes, TVC’s, Music Video’s, Hair and Fashion Parades and Conventions. Kylie has worked with many people in the entertainment industry including; John Farnham, Kathy Sledge (Sister Sledge), Gloria Gaynor, Guy Sebastian, Jimmy Sommerville, Robyn Loau, Shauna Jensen, Nikki Bennett, Toni Pearon, Erika Heynatz, Human Nature, Taxiride, Grinspoon, Rogues Traders, Vandalism. Kylie has been teaching dance for 13 years.

Leslie Bell
Theatre Jazz

Leslie moved to Sydney from New York City in 2000 leaving behind an extensive Broadway career spanning nine Broadway musicals, and five National touring Broadway productions. She was last seen on Broadway in the Tony award winning musical “Chicago” where she played “Mona” featured in the show stopping Cell Block Tango. She has had the privilege of working for many award-winning choreographers including Susan Stroman, Rob Marshall, Randy Skinner and Jerome Robbins. In addition to theatre, she has worked in film and television and can be seen in the new feature film, Anything But Love just released in America. Since moving to Australia, she has worked in commercials and on the sci-fi show “Farscape”.

Michael Boyd
Jazz / Funk / Hip Hop

Michael has performed in various musicals including Grease Arena Spectacular, Supanova Band and Cointreau Ball. He was lead dancer in Baz Luhrman’s Moulin Rouge, appeared in Scooby Doo the movie and numerous TV commercials and film clips. Michael was the resident choreographer for Bardot. He has also performed for Grinspoon, Kelly Clarkson and Australian Idol. Other choreographic credits include Pepsi Charts, Bondi Ballet seasons 2002 and 2004, David Jones Couture Collections, Channel V, NRL Grand Final, Charlie Angels Sydney Premier, RUMBA, Telethons, Wella Hair Shows, Jockey Underwear, B.M.W, Carlton United, and Westfields.

Brian Carbee
Contemporary & Stretch

Brian is a veteran teacher here at the Sydney Dance Company Studios and is one of Australia’s most respected contemporary technique teachers. He has taught company classes for Australian Dance Theatre, Chunky Move, Bangarra Dance Theatre as well as several terms at NIDA, NAISDA, Brent Street and the UNITEC Performing Arts School in New Zealand where he was instrumental in the development of their degree program. Born in the United States, Brian earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Connecticut in 1979. He moved to New Zealand in 1981 to join Limbs, where he created two major works, Disturbing the Peace and Parts Unknown. In 1991, he founded his own company, the Jump Giants and produced Heaven, Hell and Hamilton and Bedrock. He choreographed the hit musicals West Side Story and Peter Pan for the Mercury Theatre and Cabaret at the Watershed Theatre. He danced with Douglas Wright Dance in Sydney production of Forever and in Commotion Company’s stage and film productions of The Dark Forest. Based in Sydney for nearly 10 years, Brian recently toured New Zealand and Sydney in Black Milk with Douglas Wright Dance. He also regularly tours overseas in Tense Dave with Melbourne based Chunky Move. He won a 2005 Australian Dance Award for best choreography for In the Dark, directed by Wendy Houstoun and won a Special Festival Award for his production of Stretching It Wider at the 2001 Mardi Gras Gay and Lesbian Arts Festival. Brian’s 1997 solo work In Search of Mike was adapted into a short dramatic film, which has won ten international short film awards including third place in the world’s best short film competition in Paris.

Ian Castenetto
Contemporary

After graduating from University of South Australia with a Bachelor of Law, Ian joined Australian Dance Theatre and toured to South East Asia, England and Europe. For two years he danced with Scapino Ballet in Amsterdam then with the Susan Marshall Company in New York for a further two years. With government funding, Ian participated in the Yard – an annual choreographic event held in Marthas Vinyard, Massachusetts. Ian has also choreographed for ADT, and taught for various theatre companies in Italy. He has danced for Glen Tetley, Christopher Bruce [Ballet Rambert] Norman Morrice [Royal Ballet], Johnathan Taylor, David Atkins and Lindsay Kemp. Ian has also worked as resident director, dancer, and choreographer on Pearl Fisher, Carmen, Fiddler on the Roof and Death in Venice for Opera Australia.

Joshua Consandine
Ballet / Contemporary

Joshua began his training at the Glen Street Academy before joining The Australian Ballet School where he studied for three years. He danced with West Australian Ballet for one year prior to joining The Australian Ballet in 1994. Joshua was promoted to Senior Artist in 2000 and Principal Artist in 2003. At The Australian Ballet he performed featured roles in many contemporary and classical works including the featured roles of Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake, Benvolio in Romeo and Juliet, Basillo in Don Quixote, Des Grieux and Lescaut in Manon, Lensky in Onegin, Danilo in The Merry Widow, D’Artagnan in The Three Musketeers and Bronze Idol in La Bayadere. Joshua joined Sydney Dance Company in 2004 and performed the title role of Dorian Gray in Graeme Murphy’s Shades of Gray. He has also performed in other Sydney Dance Company productions Grand, Ellipse and Some Rooms

Blacker Conteh
Hip Hop

Blacker Conteh has been dancing for over twenty years. He began his career in Sierra Leone and the Gambia on the West Coast of Africa. He is a charismatic and skilled performer, choreographer and teacher of Break, Hip Hop, Jazz, Freestyle, Funk, Reggae, Fire and Contemporary dance. He has worked in dance television in Guinea and Gambia and worked as a choreographer, DJ and MC for concerts, large clubs, 5 Star hotels and touring companies. Blacker has toured internationally, especially throughout China, selected by touring companies to perform solo, partner and group work in large venues and entertainment complexes. In addition to his work in foreign countries, Blacker was chosen as Korean Super Star by OzCam Productions in the commercial video clip conducted in Chech Republic in 2002. In 1988 Blacker was one of the first choreographers in Sierra Leone to combine contemporary and West African dance work for television and in 1997-98 was selected on performance contract as a cultural ambassador for Sierra Leone in the Hong Kong Exposition “Windows of World”. In August 2000 he moved to Sydney where he teaches funk and hip hop for Sydney Dance Company, performed and taught African Dance and Street Moves with the University of NSW, Carnivale and Ausdance, performs in group and solo shows and guest performs dance work for film and television. His Street Moves dance classes and performances with children, teenagers and adults have also been commissioned nationally by dance festivals and studios including Stamping Ground Dance Festival, Camp Creative and North Coast Dance Studios. Blacker has choreographed for and performed with young indigenous hip hop group called McMurriz in 2004. He took part at the live performance Styling Up 2004 together with rapper J Wess, young group McMurriz and others in Brisbane. Another major work he has done recently is dance performance at Global Carnival 2004 in Bellingen whereby Blacker’s team was selected to present with an Australian Hip Hop band Reising Dogs. Recently, Blacker organized his own dance team with a number of dance talents called OzMix which gave him further opportunity to travel and work across Australia. He aims to remain in Australia performing and teaching and is particularly interested in cultural intersections between dancers of different backgrounds. Blacker was described at the Carnivale “Streets of Dance” performance, in September 2000, in Sydney as “an astoundingly charismatic, physical and professional cultural performer and what’s more, an excellent role model for young artists working in multicultural Australia”.

Ramon Doringo
Jazz / Lyrical Jazz

Ramon graduated with a Bachelor of Science Education (BSEd), majoring in Physical Education. He trained as a dancer in Manila and Sydney and has performed in Europe, USA, South East Asia, Japan and the Middle East. His professional work includes theatre, film, promotion and music videos. He is also one of Sydneys highest profile commercial choreographers and dance instructors. Ramons recent Television appearances include "dance and movement coach" for Australia's Next Top Model for Fox 8' The Rock Eistedfod Challenge Grand Finals TV Special for Channel 9, Australian Idol 2004 and 2005 (for the 10 finalists), Celebrity Circus and Skating on Thin Ice and as a judge on ABC TV Strictly Dancing (Series 1, 2 & 3). Ramon directed and co-choreographed Guy Sebastian at the 2004 ARIA Awards. Ramon choreographed Katie Underwood 2006 Sleaze Ball, the 2004 DIVA Awards featuring Paul Capsis and 2004 Sleaze Ball @ Fox Studios. Ramon has been interviewed and featured in 10 different Lifestyle Publications including Sunday Life "Five Fit & Fantastic Australian", New Woman, Cleo, Good Medicine, Daily Telegraph, SX, Sydney Magazine, Sydney Live Magazine, The Australian Magazine & Sunday Telegraph’s Careers. Ramon has also appeared on various Lifestyle programs for television such as Sydney Weekender for Seven Network, Channel V, Optus Movie Channel, E Entertainment. His stage and theatre credits include Dancin Dynamite, The King and I, Chess the Musical, Dancin Man, Rasputin the Musical, The People Choice Award, The Royal Bicentennial Concert, The Power Rangers Asian Tour. Ramon's choreographic works include: The Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games Opening Ceremony, Channel 10 Station Identification, Optus Movie Channel, Men in Black Movie Premiere Party, 20th Century Fox Home Video Launch, Smith Chips, Toyota Camery, Sanyo Digital Camera, Madonna's Girlie Show, Janet Jackson Velvet Rope Album Launch, Sydney Mardi Gras, Hand in Hand, Pride, Diva Awards. Ramon has also taught for various dance studios including Bodenwieser Dance Centre, Dynamite Dance Studios, Brent Street School of Performing Arts and is currently the Director of Dance Classes at Sydney Dance Company .

Ilona Fabiszewski
Hip Hop / Funk

Ilona Fabiszewski is an accomplished performer and choreographer who began dancing at the age of five. Ilona lived and trained in dance in the UK, taking her versatility to the next level specializing in fusion funk, hip hop and popping and locking. Ilona continues her training with top UK and USA choreographers during travel and workshops. With her inspired and fresh approach to street styles, ilona fuses her past training into her hip hop and street funk classes. Ilona’s personal style reflects the influence of her background training in Funk, Hip Hop, Breakdancing, Popping and Locking, Jazz and Tap. Her style is strong and powerful with a focus on ‘feeling’ the music. As a teacher she encourages performers to find their own style, promoting individuality and experimentation. With a personable approach to teaching she inspires confidence and an intrinsic feel for the music, and is respected for her down to earth nature and warmth. Classes will have you bringing personality into every move with routines maintaining variety and contrast; ranging from raw and hard energy to smooth and fluid. Ilona’s teaching and choreography remains in high demand, representing crews such as "Caramell”, “Sirens” and performing and choreographing for her own company “Funk-d”. Some of her credits include Urban Music Awards, Random’s ‘Are You Ready’ music video, Sleazeball 06- dancer for Katie Underwood and The Drag King and Queen, ‘Rize’ film launch, Luna Park NYE 05, Battle of The Year, dancer at Zoo Mag model comp, Elite Championships, Groove, Shakedown, Dancekool, British Airways Party (London), Roxanne Lebrasse (Aus Idol) music video and much more. Bianca Gallifuoco
Hip Hop, JFH

Bianca has been dancing for 20 years, trained in jazz, tap, funk, hip hop, classical, contemporary, acting and singing at Dynamite Dance Studios, Brent Street School of Peforming Arts, ATYP and international workshops. Bianca has also completed two university degrees at UTS, a Bachelor of Arts in Communication (Public Communication) and a Bachelor of Law. With her degrees, Bianca plans to support and contribute to the arts. She has been teaching since the age of 16 at dance studios, high schools and ran her own studio, Boomski Beats for 3 years in which she was founder, choreographer and artistic director. Bianca has performed in film clips, stage, TV and film, performing alongside artists TV Rock, The Young Divas, Figkidd, Roxy Lebrasse (Aus Idol), Human Nature, Tina Arena, Marcia Hines. Bianca choreographed for the feature film 'Almost', for the girl-group Ajaqa who supported Destiny’s Child, as well as club shows, corporate shows, and for artists as a movement coach and choreographer. She has danced at the Opening of Fox Studios, the Opening of Stadium Australia, the 2006 Ausdance Awards at the Sydney Opera House with the Sydney Dance Company Performance Group, the Fresh Party at the Hordern Pavillion as featured on Channel V, for Coca Cola at NIDA, at the White Party at the Dome for international DJ Armin vaan Buren. Bianca has hosted kids shows with Showtime Attractions, Promotechnics, Nickelodeon and Millennium Entertainment. Bianca has performed overseas in Japan and Singapore. Her classes are fast-paced, fun, and her style is forever changing. The atmosphere is friendly and encouraging!

Louie George
Jazz

Louie trained at Bartuccio Dance and Promotion Centre. He has lead an extraordinary career as a dancer, singer, actor and choreographer. His credits include Funny Girl, Mame, Sisterella, Sweet Charity, Miss Saigon and Faust. Louie has appeared regularly as resident singer for Good Morning Australia, The ARIA Awards, Hey Hey It’s Saturday, Denni Hines ‘Its Alright’ video, Vicious Rumours, Marionettes, Good Time Corporate Band and the Bert Newton Show. Louie has choreographed for the Victorian Arts Centre, The Mike Walsh Show, Countdown, the Logie Awards, AFI Awards and various television commercial and fashion awards. He has taught at Dance World 301, Brattice Dance and Brent Street School of Performing Arts as well as at Sydney Dance Company Dance Studios.

Selina Giles
Jazz / Funk

Selina trained at the Brent Street School of Performing Arts and has completed workshops at Alvin Ailey and Steps on Broadway in New York. She has worked nationally and internationally in children’s shows including Star Wars among other various Disney productions, and has performed with the likes of the Screaming Jets and Debra Byrne. Selina was Assistant Choreographer to Jason Colman for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony. She also created the successful dance eisteddfod Extreme with business partner Toni Pearson.

Zac Zainal Jaffar
Jazz / Broadway Jazz / Lyrical Jazz

Zac trained at Tisch University of Performing Arts, New York, completing a Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theatre and Choreography. Zac is an accomplished dancer, singer, actor and choreographer. His theatre and television credits include: The Arena Spectacular Grease, Into the Woods, MAUI the Musical, The King and I [New York], Kiss of the Spiderwoman, and Pyjama Games. He has choreographed for many corporate events including: Gas Night Club, ACONS Hand in Hand 2001, Yamaha International and fashion parades. Zac was assistant choreographer to Ramon Doringo for ACONS Hand in Hand 1999 and Men in Black Movie Launch. Zac has also taught at Arthur Murray Dance School.

Tia Jordan
Jazz Fusion

Tia Jordan is a second generation performer. Since her first role as Felix the Cat in her parent’s pantomime, Tia has gone on to appear in every arena of entertainment from the silver screen to Sydney’s elite jazz venue The Basement. Her stage credits include Go-To-Hell Kitty in Chicago the Musical, Lulu in the late Richard Wherret's Cabaret, Teresita in West Side Story, for which she was also Assistant Choreographer, My Fair Lady, the Sydney media launch of Crazy For You, IMG's Cinderella, and Aladdin, Sesame Street Live, Rasputin the Musical and a Royal Gala Performance. She appeared in feature film Bootmen and on TV in All Saints, Roy & HG's Club Buggery, The Norman Gunston Show, Hey Hey It's Saturday, The Logies, In Melbourne Tonight, and The Midday Show for which she has acted as choreographer on many occasions. Tia's choreography can be seen in TV commercials, music videos and corporate events in Australia and overseas. Her client list includes Justine Clarke, Delta Goodrem, Danielle Spencer-Crowe, Toni Pearon, Deni Hines, Halls Vapourdrops USA, Coca Cola Japan, The Australian Youth Media Awards, IBM, and various SONY BMG artists. Tia’s writing and direction has helped create some of Australia’s elite export talent, resulting in major accolades such as the MO Award and ACE Award Entertainer of the Year. She is a regular guest adjudicator at many Australian performing arts competitions and she was enrolled as key speaker by Dance Australia Magazine at the Dance Expo 2005 Audition Forum. She served on the Australian Dancers Council in the late nineties and her teaching credits include NIDA, Sydney Dance Company adult classes, University of Western Sydney, Brent St, Dynamite, McDonald College, ED5, and educational institutions throughout Australia and New Zealand. In 1997 Tia co-founded OZ SHOWBIZ CARES/EQUITY FIGHTS AIDS, an entertainment industry charity, supported by the MEAA, which has raised over $600,000 in funds for people living with AIDS/HIV.

Kassy Lee
Jazz, Funk, Hip Hop

Kassy Lee trained in Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Classical, Hip Hop and Break. In 2002 she was awarded the Senior Dance Scholarship at the McDonald College. Kassy is also a State Champion Gymnast and has won numerous awards for both gymnastics and artistic gymnastics. Kassy has a busy career as a professional commercial dancer in Sydney as well as a regular teacher of Hip Hop, Funk & Jazz at Sydney Dance Company. Performance highlights include touring with the Sydney Dance Company's production of TIVOLI and dancing at the Sydney 2000 Olympics Opening Ceremony and Closing Ceremony. Kassy has appeared in numerous TV Commericals, Music Videos and short films. In 2006 Kassy completed a study tour to the Broadway Dance Centre in New York, where she attended a series of professional classes. Kassy has just returned home from a 6 month contract performing at Tokyo Disneyland. Since returning home she has appeared in TV commercials for Nurofen and Big Brother 3 Mobile. Kassy has also dnnced in music video clips for Jade McCrae and Sneaky Sound System. In 2008, Kassy performed on Channel 10s SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE AUSTRALIA as one of the TOP TWENTY finalists.

Jason Liu Brennan
Jazz / Funk / Hip Hop

Jason trained at The MacDonald College in classical ballet [RAD] Jazz, Contemporary, Contact Impro, Tribal, Hip Hop, Funk, Rap and Breakdance. Jason’s professional credits include Pacific Sky Cruise Ship, Firestorm [Produced/Directed/Performed], Bodies, Gluttony [Co director/Choreographer] City Live, Sydney 2000 Olympic Games [Assistant Choreographer], Caribbean Tempest and Linnaeus, Prince of Flowers, Gael Force ‘Lights Camera Chaos’, Fox Studios, Power Rangers Asian Tour [Malaysia, Singapore and Philippines], Turrandot and Aida, Trojans [Opera Australia and Sydney Dance Company] Phantales, Sesame Street Live, and La Cage Follies. Jason has taught for the Australian Institute of music, University of Western Sydney, Australian Theatre for Young People, Aboriginal Dance Theatre Redfern, McDonald College, Keene Kids, Jane Scali, Dynamite Studios and Brent Street School of Performing Arts.

Lucas Newland


Lucas studied at Brent Street, completing the fulltime performing arts course in 2002. He has also completed many international workshops at The Edge, Los Angeles. In the year 2000, Lucas was voted “The Dancer to Watch” by Dance Australia Magazine. Lucas has toured Australia and Japan as a dancer with the musical “We Will Rock You”. Other performance credits include “Orpheus in the Underworld” for Opera Australia, “The Man from Snowy River” for Jacobsen Entertainment, Sydney 2000 Olympic Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies as well as numerous other commercial and corporate dance productions. His choreography credits include Schools Spectacular (1998-2002) and Rock Challenge (1997-2001). Lucas has danced in music video clips for Scott Cain, Lee Kernegan and Uncle Jamm (UK). He has also worked in Television and film for a number of years, and appeared in shows “All Saints”, “Home & Away”, “Always Greener” and the UK film “8 Steps to Heaven”.

Carly OConnor
Jazz, Funk, Hip Hop

Carly trained at the Edge Performing Arts (Los Angeles, USA) and the Borovanski Ballet Academy. Carly is a commercial dancer and choreographer for stage, film and television. She has danced with many Australian leading artists including television apppearances with Marcia and Deni Hines – Australian Idol Grand Final, Hudu Gurus – NRL Grand Final 2006, Anthony Callea – New Year’s Eve Ball. She has also danced on episodes of the Footy Show, Australia’s next top model and Celebrity Big Brother. Carly has danced live on stage with numerous artists including MIKA, Tina Arena, Inaya Day, Courtney Act and Marcia Hines. Carly has appeared in music video clips for “Sneaky Sound System” – I love it, “Marcia Hines” – Got to Believe and “Suzy Ray” – Disco in my Car. Carly’s recent choreographic credits included “MIKA” Lollipop Australian Tour and “Eskimo Joe” London Bombs Video Clip as well as choreographing various fashion and hair parades for corporate clients such as Bloch Dancewear, Toni & Guy, Wella and Antz Pants.

Kristian Pellisier
Ballet

Kristian is a graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School(VCASS) and the Australian Ballet School(2001). At VCASS, Kristian was trained in ballet, kinetics, modern, contemporary, jazz, tap, gymnastics, acrobatics, ethnic and Spanish dance styles. He was the recipient of the Anne Woolliams Award for dedication and excellence in Dance (1997) and the Lucie Saronova Memorial Scholarship(1998) for Cecchetti, receiving Honours for the Elementary and Intermediate Cecchetti in the same year. At the Australian Ballet School, Kristian was the recipient of the RMIT Theatre Studies Award, Michael Easton Scholarship(1999 and 2000) and the Beta Sigma Phi Scholarship(2001). Kristian was the founding member of a Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada(2002), where he performed numerous soloist roles. He has also performed with Bondi Ballet, Opera Australia, The Australian Ballet, The Dancers Company and Sydney Dance Company, Expressions Dance Company and Royal New Zealand Ballet on secondment. He has performed roles from Flower festival at Genzano, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Coppelia, Symphony in D and The Nutcracker and created solos in both classical and contemporary works for various choreographers including Jason Pitt, Jiri Kylian, Simone Clifford, Derek Dean, Paulina Quinteros and Graeme Murphy. Kristian has worked as a guest teacher for various schools in Sydney as well as adjudicated for the Xtreme Dance Eisteddford and Mc Donald’s Performing Arts Challenge. He has also received choreographic training during the time at VCASS and ABS and the first work he created is used as an aid for teaching the dance composition process for dance Units 1 and 2 of VCE(Victorian Certificate of Education. Kristian is currently studying a Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Arts in International Studies at UTS. Kristian received the title of “Yoga Siromani” (Yoga Teacher) through the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre and is studying for the Associate Diploma in Cecchetti Teaching through the Classical Ballet Cecchetti Society of Australia Inc. Kristian has recently been offered a character role in Bruce Bereford’s upcoming feature film “Mao’s Last Dancer” choreographed by Graeme Murphy.

Nacho Pop
Popping

Nate Mendelsohn aka Nacho Pop has been dancing since he was very young, growing up in New York City. He is the best popper in Australia, and constantly defends his title. Nacho has done TV ads (Lipton, McDonalds, Coca-Cola, Sprite, MTV, Channel V, Toohey's Dry, Evian) and music videos (Bliss n Eso, Paulini, Maya Jupiter), but more importantly, Nacho has won battles against Australasia's best poppers / hip hop dancers, and is held in high regard by elite dancers worldwide. Nacho has been in Sydney now for almost 7 years, running shows for the world famous 'seven dollars crew' and is currently a member of the undisputed best funkstyle crew in all of Australia and New Zealand - STAR CONNECTION. Dale Pope
Lyrical Jazz

Dale Pope is a highly sought after dancer, choreographer and teacher based in Sydney. Trained in all styles of dance from Commercial Jazz and Hip Hop to Classical, Dale majored in Contemporary at New Zealand Performing Arts School and continued her professional dance career in Australia when she moved across the Tasman 9 years ago, after completing 4 years on the international competitive aerobics circuit representing NZ twice in the Pairs Division during the World Cup Aerobic Championships in Tokyo and San Diego. Career highlights include performances with Kylie Minogue, Marcia Hines, kd lang, Caroline O'Connor, Katie Underwood and Tina Cousins. She has also performed for Queen Elizabeth, Prince Edward and the King and Queen of Sweden. Most recently Dale has worked with Bindi Irwin and her family on a soon to be released DVD including dance fitness. Dale regularly choreographs musicals and stage shows for primary and high schools, is the NSW State Choreographer for the Australian Girls Choir (of the Qantas Ad fame) and is European Tour Choreographer for 2006. Dale adjudicates many of Sydney’s yearly Eisteddfods, most notably The Performing Arts Challenge hosted by the City of Sydney. Dale is a senior teacher with Sydney Dance Company community classes specialising in Lyrical Jazz, and spends time traveling Australia and New Zealand teaching and choreographing on workshop and masterclass tours. Dale is the Director of - RED (Raw Energy Dance) – an aerobic dance fitness program especially designed for children of all ages in educational schools’ PE/Arts curriculum which she has been running for 9 years.

Dianne Rakebrandt
Jazz Funk Hip Hop (JFH)

Dianne is a commercial dancer in Sydney and completed the full-time course at Brent Street School of Performing Arts. Her Musical Theatre Credits include Oh! What a Night (Gloria) and Grease the Arena Musical (ensemble and as understudy for Cha Cha). She has danced in music video clips “Out with my Baby” Guy Sebastian, “Love 2 Love” James Kannis and “So Hot Right Now” Jade McCrae. Dianne has appeared in many TV Commercials and also on TV as a dancer in shows such as Australian Idol Final, Popstars and The Footy Show.

Travers Ross
Hip Hop / Street Jazz

Travers has experienced dance all his life starting training in his Mothers dance school in his home town of Coffs Harbour Choreographing and tutoring by 12 yrs of age. At 16 he was featured in the ABC documentary of Australian story about Stamping Ground, a festival in Bellingen NSW to encourage and increase awareness of male dance which he continues to strengthen and support through out Australia. He then moved to Sydney to study at Newtown Performing Arts High School and after graduating opened his own dance school “Holiday Coast Hip Hop” teaching studio hip hop, Break, contemporary and world dance. He Directs 2 events Intensive Festival and Battle Skool which is all still running now including his school in Coffs Harbour. From these students he developed the crew Groovelock. Groovelock now regularly perform for corporate, conferences and resorts on the mid north coast and gold coast opening the 2005 business awards in Coffs Harbour and performing with Wendy Mathews and Carlotta for a breast cancer fundraiser 2006 to name a few. Travers has performed at the Global Festival in Bellingen, the Fringe Festival in Melbourne 2006 and produced sold out productions, Hip Hop elements, Sum’n Fresh, and Lock in the groove tour to name a few. He has tutored at Stamping Ground festival for the past seven years, Young Performing Artists on the Gold Coast and Between gigs travels Australia as a tutor, performer, and mentor with young people in disadvantaged and remote or regional areas in NSW, NT, QLD, VIC, ACT, and W.A. In 2005 he travelled to Brazil, LA and New York studying Capoeira, Hip Hop, Broadway and Contemporary to finally evolve with a unique style he now claims as his own. This style is so different and challenging and is a combination of hip hop, break, contemporary, Cabaret, world cultures, full of isolations, slick but very earthy and new He is now in 2007 Choreographing, tutoring and performing throughout Sydney, Australia.

Nina Samberg
Lyrical Jazz / Contemporary

Born and raised in California, Nina began her training in ballet and gymnastics at age 7. She went on to study Jazz and Modern dance once moving to Los Angeles for high school, training with many of LA’s most respected teachers and choreographers at studios such as The Edge Performing Arts, Debbie Reynolds Dance Studio and LA Zeal. Nina trained with such names as Cati Jean, Adam Parson, Michael Schwandt and Alex Magno. Nina also worked in LA as a dancer and choreographer for Red Ant Fashion, performing and choreographing for several fashion and make-up/hair shows. Nina moved to Australia in 2004, studying a Bachelor Design and Visual Communication at UTS whilst continuing to train at the Sydney Dance Company. Within her first 6 months, Nina was one of the founding dancers of Sydney University’s own dance company MADSOCompany. Since then Nina has performed at several events around Sydney including showcasing of her own choreography as seen at Industry Night

Jasmin Saulo
Hip Hop, JFH

Jasmin started dancing at the age of 3 and has appeared in TV and Film since the age of 5. She is formally trained in classical ballet RAD, tap (gold star FATD) and Jazz (FATD gold star). She has won Bronze, Silver and Gold medals in Ballroom (specializing in Latin) Jasmin continued her professional dance training at Sydney Dance Company (with a scholarship) and Brent Street Studios. Jasmin has danced in music video clips for “The Follow”, Dallas Crane “Curiosity” and Inaya Day “Breakaway” for Sony BMG. Jasmin was the overall winner for Channel V Room 208 Dance Competition. She has appeared in numerous TV commercials including Motorola (South East Asia), Foxtel, Weetbix and MacDonalds. Jasmin’s TV credits include as a presenter for “Nickelodeon” and as an extra for Home and Away” and “Love my Way”. Jasmin has worked for Show Time Attractions since 2004, performing across Australia in children’s shows as a choreographer and dancer. She has also performed as a dancer for the Rugrats tour of Australia. Jasmin is a dancer with the Sydney Dance Company Studios performance group and in 2006 performed at the Sydney Opera House for the Ausdance Awards (choreographed by Leslie Bell). She also performed at the 2006 Diva Awards (Star City). In 2007, Jasmin spent 3 months working and studying dance in London. Despite her young age, Jasmin has already established herself as a dedicated and inspirational teacher with 6 years experience.

Andrew Sears
Hip Hop

Andrew has been dancing since 2003 training under some of Australia’s leading choreographers. His focus has been on hip hop and commercial styles, his choreography is a melting pot of lyrical hip hop/commercial/jazz funk using beats and lyrics as his main focus when teaching! In 2006 Andrew toured Malaysia as part of the “rize above tour” as well as dancing for Israel (the artist) and at the Urban Music Awards, as well Andrew has danced for Coca~Cola and at various club venues. Andrew has also done some modelling work for MacDonalds and appeared on a CD cover for the “rize above dance” compilation through out Asia . as well as appearing in the bollywood film “hey baby” and music video clips for the young diva’s and Roxanne lebrasse. Andrew believes that teaching allows an opportunity to share with others what he has learnt himself and plans on travelling overseas in the near future to further his training in many styles of dance ad performance.

Ellen Simpson
Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop

Ellen grew up in New Zealand and started ballet lessons when she was 5 years old. She has attained her ARAD letters for completing her advanced 2 work in classical ballet, her NZAMD solo seal diploma in modern jazz and has been lucky enough to train overseas with some of the best teachers in Hip Hop, Lyrcial and Contemporary. In 2000 Ellen was awarded the NZAMD National Jazz Dancing Title and has since received various scholarships in all styles of dance. In 2003 Ellen was selected to travel to London’s Globe Theatre as a member of New Zealand’s Young Shakespeare Company where she attended workshops and tutorials with some of London’s best Shakespearian actors and directors. In 2004 she travelled to LA to dance at the renowned EDGE Performing Arts Centre as a short-term scholarship student. Musical Theatre roles include “Roxy” in the 2005 tour or “Chicago” and “Mary Jane” in the musical Big River.

Sarah Stollery
Hip Hop, JFH

Contemporary Jazz/ JFH Sarah has been dancing for over 13 years. In 2001, Sarah attained a scholarship to attend The McDonald College of Performing Arts College in Sydney, where she studied for six years in Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Hip Hop, and Lyrical. In 2008 she was employed at the college to teach Hip Hop and JFH. In 2004 she traveled to The United States and trained at the Broadway Dance Centre, Steps on Broadway and The Edge Studios. Some credits include: Qantas and Australian Rugby sponsorship performances, Performances at Disneyland, Universal Studios and Cranegie Hall, Dance and Hair Expos, The DIVA Awards 2006, was a dancer for singer/song writer Jade Macrae, performed at The Australian Dance Awards. She was also assistant choreographer to Ramon Doringo choreographing a stage performance with Katie Underwood, performed in a contemporary/hip hop piece choreographed by Marko Panzic and Sarah Boulter in the 2007 Short+Sweet Dance, assistant at The L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival 2008, Mardi Gra 2008 stage dancer for Olivia Newton John and Cyndi Lauper. Also in 2007 Sarah was awarded a scholarship through Project Moda and The Passion for Dance Project to train intensively in Los Angeles at The Edge Studios, Millennium Dance Complex and Debbie Reynolds Dance Studio. Whilst in L.A., she took class from choreographers such as Wade Robson, Kevin Maher, Blake McGrath, Mandy Moore and Eddie Garcia.

Jess T
Jazz, Funk, Hip Hop

Jessica Leah Taylor (a.k.a. Jess T) was trained in Sydney at Brent Street Studios and NIDA where she won “The Roadshow Entertainment Scholarship”. She has recently returned from London where she played the role “Lambchops” in the European tour of Fame the Musical. Whilst overseas she conducted workshops in Holland, Germany and in London at “Dance Attic”and “Pineapple Studios”. She also choreographed for the “UK Foundation of Dance” and “The American School of Cinematography”. She appeared in and choreographed various film clips and TV Commercials in the UK and was a dancer and choreographer for MTV. She also performed at “Uitmarkt” (European Musical Festival). Previous to this, Jess T performed with Sydney Dance Company Studios at The Australian Dance Awards (choreographed by Leslie Bell and directed by Ramon Doringo). Jess T has had extensive experience in Musical Theatre, Acting and Commercial Dance, credits include: The National Theatre Company’s production of “Pygmalion” (role of Clara), Hermia in a “A Mid Summer Nights Dream”, Lizie in “City Gym the Musical” and Erma in “Anything Goes”. She has toured with “The Wiggles”, “Warner Brothers Live Entertainment” and was host on “The Humphrey Bear Show”. Jess T has choreographed many major fashion events for Billabong, Supre, NSW Bridal exhibitions and Miss Indy as well as TV shows, Fox Sports, Good News Week and Strictly Dancing. In 2007 she choreographed and performed at Sydney Mardi Gras. Jess T appeared in feature film “Four Door Mansion” in which she played the supporting role of Tania. The film recently won best comedy in the LA Film Festival. She has also appeared in “Home and Away”, “All Saints” and numerous television commercials. Also a fitness instructor, Jess T is renowned for her high impact and energetic class structure.

James Taylor
Classical Ballet

Born in London and trained at the Royal Ballet School, where he received a scholarship to study at the Paris Opera, James has been a member of the Royal Ballet, London, the National Ballet of Portugal, Lisbon and the National Ballet of Canada, Toronto. He has worked on new productions with many world-renowned choreographers including Sir Frederick Ashton, Sir Kenneth MacMillan, Rudolf Nureyev, Jiri Kilian, William Forsythe, Glen Tetley, David Parsons and Graeme Murphy. He has also performed with many international ballet stars including, Rudolf Nureyev, Sir Anthony Dowell, Silvie Guillem, Mikhail Barishnikov, Fernando Bahones, Karen Kain, Alessandra Ferri, John Meehan, Margaret Illman, Rex Harrington, Leanne Benjamin and Viviana Durante. James joined Sydney Dance Company in 1993 and after three years left to form his own business, Smeg Productions, producing dance based entertainment for corporate and private clients, including DKNY, BMW, Porsche, ABN Amro, MTV and the Attorney General. In 2001 James was a founding member of the Bondi Ballet and has created five works as Resident Choreographer becoming Assistant Artistic Director in July last year. James has created two works with Sydney Dance Company and two works for the West Australian Ballet. James is also a recognised freelance teacher and choreographer and has adjudicated twice for the MacDonald Challenge Ballet Final at the Opera House.This year James has just completed choreographing a production of Cabaret for Ascham School and later this year he will be choreographing a production of Grease for Sceggs College.

Yolanda Thomas
Funk / Hip Hop

Yolanda is one of the longest standing hip hop teachers for Sydney Dance Company casual classes. Her choreography has been seen on various film clips played on Video Hits, Channel V, Rage and Music Max. Holding an advanced certificate in performing arts from DAVID ATKINS DYNAMITE STUDIOS, Yolanda keeps updated by flying to L.A once a year and doing workshops with the hottest choreographers in L.A. Recently she was hired by a dance group to update them with the latest hip hop grooves before they performed with Snoop Dog in Las Vegas (filmed by MTV). She was called upon by Maz from MTV Australia to choreograph and appear in MTV‘s show, FULL TANK where she took 4 finalists from the Cleo Bachelor Of The Year competition through their paces in a grueling hip hop routine. Australian national tours include Coca Cola’s Redfest media launches as a rapper/dancer and dancing with New York band Reel 2 Real (“I like to move it, move it!”). Yolanda’s musical theatre highlights include the role of Donna Sue Miller. in GREASE the Arena Spectacular, she was also the understudy to Danni Minogue as RIZZO, with minimum crowds of 10,000 in Australia and 40,000 in N.Z. As a backing vocalist she has worked for artist such as Powder Finger, Wendy Matthews, Robyn Loau and Vanessa Amorosi on many live gigs and T.V appearances. As an original artist she recently returned from showcase gigs in L.A, where she won 2 L.A MUSIC AWARDS for her EP ”Lock up your Sons” available now on ITUNES and www.myspace.com/yolandathomas and was also an Aussie finalist (one of 4 girls) for the CBS show ROCKSTAR SUERNOVA Yolanda was recently photographed by Alexia Sinclair for a book on INSPIRATIONAL AUSTRALIAN WOMEN which will be released world wide in March 2007.

Peggy Watson
Stretzonics

Peggy trained in Glasgow, Scotland before moving to London, where she worked as a Ballet Mistress for The London Palladium for many years. During her early years in Australia she worked in variety theatre for the Tivoli Circuit and JC Williamson Musicals. Peggy became a full-time teacher at Val Tweedie’s Australian Academy of Ballet. She has worked as a rehearsal director for Meryl Tankard and One Extra Dance Company. Peggy has performed in The Australian Ballet productions Anna Kerenina and The Nutcracker.
