The evocative rhythms of composer- percussionist Michael Askill’s score, performed live on stage, is one of Salome’s greatest strengths. Together with Omar Faruk Tekbilek, one of the world’s foremost Middle Eastern musicians, Askill creates a contemporary fusion of haunting vocals, mystical flutes and percussive sounds inspired by the Middle East, Asia and Africa.

Free Radicals was conceived as an experimental fusion of dance and percussion. Composer-percussionist Michael Askill worked alongside choreographer Graeme Murphy in the studio, together with percussionists Alison Eddington and Alison Low Choy and the sixteen dancers, to create the music and the movement simultaneously. The result is a vibrant and witty interplay of rhythm and movement played on an assortment of percussion instruments and surprising surfaces – the inside of fishbowls, the dancers’ bodies, steel curtains – by the dancers and musicians alike.

The Berlin Tapes sees Iva Davies joins forces with musical arranger Max Lambert to create an album of 'covers'. This very personal selection of songs ranging from Complicated Game to All Tomorrow's Parties captures the atmosphere of the Berlin club scene of that late 20th Century. Davies’ smooth vocals coupled with the Davies/Lambert arrangements breathes new life into some well worn but much loved material. The Berlin Tapes was first released to coincide with the premiere of Graeme Murphy's Berlin, in which Davies performed with Icehouse live on stage.
