Linda Gamblin has enjoyed a prestigious classical dance career. She commenced her training in Queensland at the Queensland Dance School of Excellence and later accepted a position with The Royal Ballet School in London.
Linda then worked with the National Ballet of Portugal as a Soloist and guest artist. She returned to Australia to perform the Australian Ballet, where she worked through the ranks to the position of Leading Soloist in 1993. Linda danced a variety of principal roles at The Australian Ballet inclusing Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Lise in La Fille Mal Gardee and Swanilda in Coppelia. She travelled extensively with the company throughout Australia and on tours to the United Kingdom, various parts of Europe, Asia, Russia and the United States.
Linda then went on to dance with The Royal Ballet, performing in works such as Swan Lake, Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Manon and Cinderella.
Linda joined Sydney Dance Company in 1996 and made her debut in Graeme Murphy’s Berlin. Following this she danced in The Protecting Veil, Free Radicals and Tivoli. She danced the lead role of Beauty in Beauty and the Beast.
As a professional classical and contemporary dancer, Linda has spent the last 20 years incorporating the Pilates method into her fitness regime. Having trained and taught for Vass and Shaw Physiotherapy and Pilates in Sydney, she now enjoys teaching Pilates as well as teaching classical ballet class for the Sydney Dance Company professional company.
In 2012, Linda opened her own full-time contemporary school of dance “Evolve Dance”.
