Daniel, from the Central Coast NSW, recently completed the eminent Pre-Professional Year with Sydney Dance Company (2014) under the expertise of Linda Gamblin. Previously, Daniel completed his Higher School Certificate whilst studying with the Village Performing Arts Centre, as well as Dancin’ Mates in his hometown Umina Beach.
Daniel’s professional career began in theatre, where he was awarded the title role of Billy Elliot in Billy Elliot the Musical. Daniel played the part in Melbourne in 2009, before traveling to perform the role as part of the United States National Tour from 2010-2011. In 2013, Daniel performed the role of Fritz, along with other parts, in the Babies Proms The Nutcracker at Sydney Opera House. Beyond dance, Daniel has also starred as the lead in Jetty Road’s 2009 music video entitled World Keeps Turning, and has made guest appearances on various talk/game shows across the United States, including The Price is Right in Los Angeles, 2011.
Whilst studying at Sydney Dance Company, Daniel undertook the McDonald’s Ballet Scholarship, where he was awarded the runner’s up scholarship, earning the title of the Male Winner for 2014.
Daniel is thrilled to be working with Sydney Dance Company as an Associate Artist, where he will be featured in Le Grand Tango at the Sydney Opera House in 2015, in collaboration with Sydney Symphony Orchestra, and working with choreographers Rafael Bonachela, Lucas Jervies and Cass Mortimer Eipper.
